What are eyelash extensions?

Eyelash Extensions are a glamorous new way to extend the length and thickness of natural eyelashes, and are a practical, convenient and beautiful alternative to the daily use of mascara.  Unlike traditional false strip or cluster lashes, lash extensions are the first innovation in lash lengthening that can be worn daily, without nightly removal.  Because each tapered, synthetic lash/fan is bonded to a single natural lash, the end result is of effortless, flawless glamour and non-detectable to the average eye!

How long do they last?

When properly applied eyelash extensions can be worn throughout the year with minimal monthly maintenance.  "Fills" are recommended after the initial full set application to refill any lashes that have cycled out.  To maintain the full, thick appearance of a new set of lashes a fill appointment with Arianna is recommended every 2-3 weeks based on your own natural lash growth cycle. 

Will they harm my natural eyelashes?

When applied properly, lash extensions will not harm natural lashes. Lash extensions applied individually with proper isolation allows natural lashes to grow and thrive with extensions.  This technique requires several different “isolation” steps during the application process so each extension/fan is adhered to a single natural lash in order to prevent interruption of the lash growth cycle.  

Can I use mascara with my eyelash extensions?

NO! Use of mascara will cause the extensions to stick together and shed prematurely.

How do I take care of my eyelash extensions after applied?

Daily cleansing & brushing is necessary to maximize the life of the extensions.  Borboleta’s foaming lash bath is perfect for cleaning the lashes free of any makeup or debris while moisturizing the lashes to maintain flexibility, which Arianna sells in her salon suite.  Using a lash wand to comb the lashes free of tangles is also recommended. She recommends using the lash bath with cleansing brush for a good deep clean, then washing/cleansing your face, then brushing/combing through them with a lash wand before bed.

What kind of lashes do you use?

Arianna uses synthetic lashes, that mimic a mink/silk texture, to give a light, fluffy, full look without having to use real mink lashes.
